Job Description: Oversees the selection of merchandise. Stays involved in inventory distributions, by reviewing the success of previous orders to determine which inventory should be replenished. This position analyzes opportunities and puts in place business plans to achieve financial objectives . Position responsibilities: Research new trends in product lines to make appropriate buying decisions. Will develop, monitor, and manage annual operating budgets for the buying division. Is responsible for managing open-to-buy and turn of merchandise to ensure proper financial management. Accountable for gross margin performance. Implements product assortment, sales, and buying plans in order to achieve the financial objectives within the Retail division. Professionally Develops the Divisional Merchandise Manager, Buyers, Associate Buyers, Assistant Buyers, and the Planning Team. Works to partner and consult with store management to ensure merchandise is meeting the needs of customer's requests. Accountable for gross margin performance. Implement product assortment, sales, and buying plans in order to achieve the financial objectives within the Retail division. Developing Divisional Merchandise Manager, Buyers, Associate Buyers, Assistant Buyers, and the Planning Team. Partner and consult with store management to ensure merchandise is meeting the needs of custome's requests. Qualifications Required In order to be considered for this role, the successful candidate must display a variety of skills/traits/experiences: Bachelor's Degree in Merchandising or related field Minimum 5 years experience working in Retail Operations or Merchandising Leadership: demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others Planning: ability to think ahead and plan over a one-to two-year time span Management: ability to organize and manage competing priorities Excellent interpersonal and communication skills An in depth understanding of inventory and ability to manage inventory Extensive exposure to the financial side of merchandising and retail Must be able to manage high performance employee teams Must be a strong team player Date Posted 06/09/2010 22:42:00 Reference ERT56
